There is a new compact crossover in town — the
Mazda CX-30, which recently debuted at the 2019 Geneva International Auto Show back
in March. This sporty addition to the Mazda lineup will offer a spacious,
flexible, and sophisticated interior with seating for up to four adults.
We are still waiting to find out the United
States engine specs, but we can expect them to be similar to the European
options. Those models will be getting three choices — a 2.0-liter inline-four
with mild-hybrid technology a 1.8-liter diesel engine, and a Mazda SKYACTIV®-X
compression-ignition powertrain with mild-hybrid technology.
The Mazda CX-30 will sit between the CX-3 and
the CX-5 in the Mazda lineup. The new model is taller and roomier than the
subcompact CX-3. It sets itself apart stylistically from the Mazda CX-3 with
sporty, signature contouring on its exterior. These graceful lines trace the
coupe-like figure of the Mazda CX-30, the design of which calls to mind both
sports car and SUV.
The sophisticated Mazda CX-30 compact crossover should arrive at American dealerships later in the summer of 2019. This new addition to the Mazda lineup just might be the perfect pick for consumers looking for a spacious vehicle with a sporty performance. While you wait for the production release of this exciting new crossover, why not stop by Hiley Mazda of Fort Worth to test-drive your favorite Mazda model?
Mazda has been on a roll with SUVs and
crossovers. The brand now has the well-respected CX-3, CX-5, and CX-9 in its
lineup, offering a variety of options to modern families and drivers who want a
little more versatility and space than the average car. Now, we hear tell that
an all-new Mazda SUV will be on its way soon. Mazda fans recently got their
first glimpse of the up-and-coming models at the Geneva Motor Show.
Mazda has revealed the all-new Mazda3 sedan
with a new platform, and it stands to reason that the new SUV will be sitting
on the same architecture and underpinnings. But where will the SUV sit in the
automaker’s crossover and SUV lineup? One could speculate that the discontinued
CX-7, which cycled out of the lineup in 2012, is getting a replacement. But
Mazda representatives are keeping quiet on details until the new model makes
its public debut.
The only information we know thus far about
the all-new Mazda SUV is that it will use the latest SKYACTIV® tech to offer
the new SKYACTIV®-X engine, which is said to combine the response of a diesel
engine with the performance of a gasoline engine. Details are forthcoming when
the Geneva International Motor Show runs from March 7-17.
Stay tuned for more exciting news from Mazda. In the meantime, stop by Hiley Mazda to test-drive our favorite model from the brand.
Though known for their small, sporty sedans, Mazda has been working on expanding the brand’s lineup recently to include more family-friendly models like the CX-3 and CX-5 crossovers. New reports from the Chicago Auto Show have revealed that at least two new Mazda crossovers are on the way to the market, according to Mazda North America CEO Masahiro Moro.
While those who have been following Mazda news already were aware that a crossover was already preparing to be introduced at the upcoming auto show in Geneva, Moro also mentioned that another crossover is being exclusively designed for the North American market.
The two crossovers were also confirmed to share Mazda’s vehicle
architecture and design philosophy. They will also both be built at Mazda’s new
plant in Alabama. Production should begin on the vehicles by the middle of
The first of the new Mazda crossovers is set to debut in Geneva
soon, but there is no news on when consumers will get a glimpse of the second.
Until their launch, Mazda will continue to work on the other crossovers in the
brand’s lineup, including the addition of a diesel variant among the models of

If you have safety as a top priority for your next vehicle, take a look at the 2019 Mazda CX-5’s safety rating. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave it the Top Safety Pick+ designation.
Every couple of years, the IIHS makes it more difficult for
automakers to achieve its top safety rating. For 2019, the requirements were
tightened again with the addition of a “good” rating for the small overlap
front crash test on the passenger side. The CX-5 is one of about 30 vehicles to
earn the top rating for 2019, making it one of the safest vehicles on the road.
Of the achievement, president and CEO of Mazda North American Masahiro Moro said, “Each year the IIHS ‘Top Safety Pick+’ becomes more difficult to attain but our dedication to excellent engineering continues to shine.”
Along with its good crash test results, the CX-5 comes
standard with a host of advanced safety features including Smart City Brake
Support, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Additional
features as part of the i-ACTIVESENSE® package include lane departure warning,
automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control, automatic windshield wipers, and
an upgraded forward collision warning system.

Travelling home for the holidays isn’t always a breeze,
especially with cooler temperatures and busy traffic abounding. To ease the
stress of the season, keep these holiday driving tips in mind, from maintenance
advice to emergency preparedness. You can also improve driving habits to help
you travel safely this time of year.
According to AAA, one of the most important things to remember is that your vehicle should be properly maintained during winter. Change the oil, check the tire pressure, and top off any fluids if necessary. While there’s less of a chance that we’ll see snow and ice in Texas than in other parts of the country, it’s still important to prepare for the worst by making sure the tires aren’t worn.
Stick to the speed limit to ensure you get better fuel
economy and take precautions to avoid bumping into other cars. It’s smart to
leave before busy times of the day. Consider leaving an hour earlier than you
normally would to avoid heavy traffic, and avoid driving on December 24 and
December 31 altogether if possible.
Pack a roadside emergency kit to keep in your car. Stock it
with water, a spare gas can, and a first aid kit. AAA suggests that you sign up
for an emergency roadside service in case you lock your keys in the car, get a
flat, or need towing.

There are a number of activities that come to mind when fall approaches. If you’re a fan of Halloween, you might already have your sights set on a spooky gathering. With a few tips and tricks, you can throw a costume party with memories so good they will haunt you until next fall.
You can spend a lot of money on Halloween decorations like fancy lights and scary skeletons that jump out at you when you walk by. But it’s possible to do decorations on a budget, too. Consider buying some candles and colored light bulbs to set a dark mood. Cut out bats and spiders from black construction paper to decorate walls and ceilings, and look for inexpensive tablecloths, dishes, and utensils in black.
The more elaborate the costumes, the more fun the costume party. Encourage your guests to go all out by organizing a costume contest with prizes like scary movies or bags of Halloween candy.
You can’t have a Halloween party without some creepy tunes. You’ll find plenty of premade playlists on music streaming services, or you can craft your own collection of classics like “Monster Mash” and soundtracks from horror movies.
You can’t go wrong with most foods, but it’s always good to include some fall favorites guests like caramel apples and pumpkin-centric items. If you’re throwing you party on a budget, provide a main course and asks guests to bring sides, drinks, and treats.
If you need a bit of extra help gathering all the supplies for a Halloween party, come see us at Hiley Mazda of Fort Worth for some spooky good deals.
